Decision-making interview questions
Decision-making questions ask about a call you made: an unpopular decision, a risk, a choice made with little time or incomplete data, a time you pushed back on management. The panel is listening for judgment.
Name the real constraints (time, data, people, cost) and the alternatives you turned down, then who you consulted and how you weighed it all. Be honest about what the decision cost. Hiding the downside makes a good decision sound like a lucky one.
Every answer below follows the STAR method.
